Puppets at Clubul Taranului

Completely run out of ideas of things to do with the kids at the weekend? Puppets to the rescue.

The Clubul Taranului (find it behind the Muzeul Taranului) has puppet shows every Saturday morning at 10:30am and 12:00pm. Though all the performances are in Romanian, they are more visual than anything, and we are sure that kids of any nationality will have a great time. The Bucharest Life kids love the puppets (even the eight year old, who moans every time we go, only to get there and have a great time and ask if he can go next week).

There are three or four different stories in the repertoire (such as Coliba Iepurasului, Ratusca cea Urata and Vrajitorul Pofticios), and throughout December there will be a special Christmas show, complete with Father Christmas.

One word of warning: if you want a seat near the front (a sound idea for smaller kids) get there extra early, or reserve before 18:00 Friday, on tel. 0723 64 36 46. Tickets cost 10 lei.

The shows are organised by these people, who are also available for private functions. This link has details of upcoming shows.
