‘Trebuie sa va informati’; RATB fail

We’re big fans of RATB (the company that operates Bucharest’s surface-level public transport) here at Bucharest Life. As our regular reader (a Mrs. Trellis of North Wales) will no doubt remember, we have sung their praises and even defended them a number of times.

Today though, RATB failed us.

Having waited a good 15 minutes for tram 27 at the Budapesta stop (in what – we realise now – was a suspiciously empty tram station) with no sign of said tram running in either direction, we went to ask the woman who sells tickets nearby what the score was.

“Tram 27 has been replaced by bus 627 while they do some work on the line” she said. “You can catch it over there.”

“OK,” we said, “thanks for the info, but at the tram stop there is no information about this.” Then (will we never learn?), we naively remarked “surely they should pin a notice to the tram stop explaining the situation.”

“It’s your responsibility to make sure you know what’s going on,” the woman replied.

Clearly it is.

@Peter

around Nitu Vasile area

hang on, I’m exploring Islam and the Jihad these weeks, hopefully I’ll be able to draw a conclusion about the phaenomenon

you know what’s the worse part? that after spending 3-4 hours watching videos of Islamic and Jihadist ideology, videos of IED and sniper attacks in Irak and Afghanistan – when I get back to read the Romanian press it makes me sick

the stories of political scandals and corrupt businessmen displaying their fortune turn my stomach insideout; Romania deserves a small Jihad of its own against these thieves and bastards.

Watching Jihad video’s with these temperatures is criminal!

Took the 381 from Berceni to the center today: airco and Billie Jean through the speakers. It has been worse…
Parmalat, Where do you live in Berceni?
