of course US police take bribes. or demand bribes more like. the idea of the US police as an uncorruptable force for good is plain nonsense.
Correct. Note also that you can remove the words ‘police’ and ‘uncorruptable’ (sic) from your second sentence and it still makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the spelling correction…My point was specifically about the police as Davin has an ongoing mission to convince us that the American police don’t take bribes and are incorruptible (I looked it up). The Romanian police are of course pretty awful but in a fairly democratic way – they are always bad and anyone can bribe them. The American police prey on the weak and vulnerable while the well off and comfortable sleep well at night. Personally I prefer the Romanian approach, imperfect as it may be.
=))
There was a second video, longer, in which the police stopped them (though with no sound so we never found out the denouement). That video has now been removed.
Instead, here is another of the same skier at the Ikea car park: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lse85Y5NIo
This looks like so much fun. Would definitely try this if I had skis here. And a car.
Was talking about this last night: we decided the driving presents more of a challenge than the skiing.
True, winter tires are a must and maybe all wheel drive for consistency. I’ve had some fun this snowy winter with my RWD car
But I don’t understand why U.S. policemen don’t take bribe. What’s wrong with them?! Everyone could do with something more than his salary.
What that isn’t you Craig?
No.
Another example of the lawlessness that is Bucharest. Try to do this in America and you are promptly nailed by the police and fined. I think it’s funny how there are so few police around here. Even if the police did stop this person a 50 RON note would do the trick. Try paying off a US policeman and that will just get you a higher fine.
To be honest I not sure they breaking any law. I am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. He is skiing after all. Had he been snowboarding I might not have found the caper so agreeable.
That’s why this is such a great country to be in
You can do anything you want. I prefer to keep it like that rather than live in a half-jail country.
