Disband the Romanian Tourism Ministry
Oct 13th, 2009
by Craig Turp.
Romania’s Minister of Tourism, Elena Udrea, the woman who brought the world The Land of Choice, was kicked out of office today after Romania’s government lost a no-confidence vote in parliament. We will miss her.

Elena Udrea was not entirely without her assets
While Udrea’s 10 months in office were arguably little short of a total disaster, in that regard she was neither better nor worse than any other Romanian Tourism Minister of the past two decades. (In fact, she was better than some). She will of course forever be remembered for the pathetic slogan and song she chose to sell Romania with abroad, and it is to be hoped that whoever takes over will abandon the whole
Land of Choice campaign.
What we genuinely hope for, however, is that the Ministry of Tourism will simply be disbanded. As we said not a month ago, hand its budget over to the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), the one organisation which has consistently shown itself capable of genuinely promoting Romania and Romanian values abroad.

What they going to make you prime minister @parmalat? I heardthey are bringing in a German. Not before time. If you want something to work, bring in the Germans.

With a couple of assets like that i think she will find another job easy.
