Bucharest Life is alive and well, but is Clicknet?

So we’re back, almost as we were before, but not quite. WordPress 2.8 is one big FAIL in our book. The auto-install function simply didn’t work, and, more than that, actually deleted a ton of stuff we could have done without losing. A good job we backed up only the day before.

Then there are the problems we’ve been having with Clicknet (Romtelecom’s internet service) which, for the past few weeks, has been awful. We’ve been with Clicknet for almost three years, at home and at the office, and have never had any complaints (apart fr0m the Wifi installation instructions).

The past couple of weeks however have been bad, really bad: the connection has failed almost every day, usually more than once. What’s more it’s an upload thing: things like Skype work, you can download if you have a connection open at the time it fails, but you can’t browse the internet as you can’t send any requests. Madness. I did hear that Romtelcom are upgrading cables. Can anyone confirm this?
